Financial Controller
AFS has an opening for a dynamic Bahraini national to fill the position of Financial Controller, reporting to the DCEO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maximizing shareholder value by delivering solid, sustainable and profitable growth. The candidate will also be responsible for financial affairs and financial risk management. Financial affairs responsibility includes accounting, investments, regulatory and management reporting, strategic matters and budgeting and shareholder affairs in addition to assisting and contributing in implementing strategic plans. 
  • Assist and contribute in implementing Group Strategic Plan
  • Define accounting, investment, credit risk policies and develop accounting procedures to ensure full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, CBB Regulations and Company’s Articles of Association
  • Develop three-year business plan and annual budget & interim forecasts.
  • Reporting including internal (management, cross-divisional), external (regulatory, Board).
  • Ensure adequate controls in Accounting (ERP system) System and maintenance of back up procedures & safeguarding data.
  • Shareholder relationship management including director's remuneration, shareholder dividend, board allowances, share assignment & other legal matters related thereto.
  • Provide support to DCEO on compliance with Corporate Governance requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional Certificate in accounts (CPA or ACCA)
  • 14+ years’ experience in the financial services industry and at least 6 years in a similar capacity position and/or IT Enabled Services organization providing outsourcing solutions, preferably in payment card industry
  • Proficiency with current financial software
  • Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standard
