Arab Financial Services (AFS), the leading digital payment solutions provider and fintech enabler in the Middle East and Africa, recently welcomed a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Ministry of Labour at its Manama headquarters. The delegation, which was led by His Excellency Jameel bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, met with Samer Soliman, AFS Chief Executive Officer, and the senior leadership team to discuss ongoing initiatives to attract, retain and upskill Bahraini human capital. The visit also included meetings with AFS’s longest serving Bahraini staff, star employees and concluded with a tour of the Company’s premises.
Samer Soliman, Chief Executive Officer at AFS extended his thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Minister. “AFS is committed to giving priority to Bahraini nationals to join our workforce and contribute to our organization’s growth. We are extremely proud of our longstanding goal to attract local talent and help in all aspects of their professional development”.
Last year, AFS was recognized and honored for its workforce nationalization efforts at an event that took place on the sidelines of the GCC ministerial meetings hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. AFS was the only financial institution from the Kingdom of Bahrain to receive this honor, as a committed employer of Bahraini talent. His Excellency Minister of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, and His Excellency Jameel bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Minister of Labour and Social Development both presented the award to AFS.
In this context, His Excellency Jameel bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan expressed his thanks and appreciation for the company's reliance on the national element and considering it a priority in its future employment plans, pointing out that the ministry aims to prepare job seekers equipped with the necessary vocational training skills to be the first choice when hiring in various sectors, especially the financial sector.
With 66% Bahrainization across its Bahrain operations, AFS is committed to its national workforce investment while offering exciting career opportunities both locally and regionally. AFS’s 2022 inaugural Summer Internship Programme: AFS iSuites, trained promising, primarily Bahraini, students from local, regional, and global academic institutions, is a testament to AFS’s commitment to supporting youth by developing their professional and technical skills. The internship programme focused on giving students with a range of academic specializations a strong payments technology knowledge-based foundation that will serve them well in future.
